In our search for the right character of wood, for the newly designed built-in in the large bathroom space, we went through several unsuccessful attempts. In order to get the right colour and the effect of visible differences in the wood grain, we started as usual with oak, which didn't work out this time. After applying a dark stain, colours were visible that we did not want in this interior. The fronts were falling into green and even blue which eliminated this most popular wood species in Poland. This is how we decided on ash, which looks great in an interior where warm grey and black are the dominant colours.
Ash is a veneer with a jarring grain with clearly visible striations. Its light, straw-coloured hue works well with dark stains to create an unusual finish for furniture fronts.
When redesigning the interiors, the investors wanted to focus on space, quality, minimalism, interesting details, muted colours, timeless design and cosiness. That is why we chose handleless cabinets that cleverly blend into the background, creating one smooth wall.
